What is the history behind World Hindi Day 2023?
The celebration of World Hindi Day dates back to 1949 when Hindi was first officially recognized as the official language of India at the UNGA. The first World Hindi Conference, inaugurated by then prime minister Indira Gandhi, was held in Maharashtra’s Nagpur in 1975 to commemorate this achievement. On January 10, 1975, the first World Hindi Conference officially began. It took place in Nagpur from 10 January to 12 January 1975. Along with 100 delegates from about 30 countries, Seewoosagur Ramgoolam, the then prime minister of Mauritius, also attended the conference as a guest. main guest of the conference.
