Who is Akash Madhwal?
Mumbai Indians’ bowling line was considered one of the weakest in IPL 2023, especially in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah and Jofra Archer, but not anymore. Newcomer Akash Madhwal made headlines in the IPL 2023 Eliminator match, taking a five-wicket haul (5-5) and dismissing the top and middle order of the Lucknow Super Giants.
The most surprising thing is that Madhwal achieved this amazing feat in the high-pressure Eliminator game and he only started playing red-ball cricket four years ago. His fast and impeccable bowling skills earned him a place in the Mumbai Indians squad for IPL 2023. And Madhwal has more than proved his credentials.
Akash Madhwal scored five goals in the qualifying round after the four he won in the final match of the tournament, which was a do or die game. It’s nice to see new people doing well. This was a season where many experienced guys had a great season and many newcomers made a big mark.… pic.twitter.com/ofZI0yk8af
