World Malaria Day 2023: Every year on April 25, the world celebrates World Malaria Day (WMD) to recognize the efforts being made to fight the disease. It is adapted from Africa Malaria Day, which African countries have celebrated since 2001.

According to WHO, malaria is a preventable disease. Additionally, this disease is curable but still has a terrible impact on the health and lifestyle of people around the world. In 2020, 85 countries are expected to have 241 million new malaria cases and 627,000 malaria deaths. In fact, children under 5 years old residing in the WHO African Region account for more than two-thirds of deaths. “It’s time to eliminate malaria: invest, innovate, deliver” will be the theme of World Malaria Day 2023.

Today is #WorldMalariaDay.#Malaria transmitted through the bite of Anopheles mosquitoes 🦟. Nearly half of the world’s population is at risk of malaria.
