Curran was bought by Punjab Kings for a whopping 18.50 Crore Rupees. Cameron Green and Ben Stokes occupied the second and third positions respectively in the IPL auction price.

Cameroon Green is the next most expensive player in IPL 2023 after Sam Curran and was sold to Mumbai Indians for 17.5 Crore Rupees.

Here is the list of most expensive players in IPL history and 2023 season. Overseas players, especially all-rounders and heavy hitters, are known to fetch high auction prices . However, Indian players are not lagging much behind. Yuvraj Singh, a legend of the game who is known for his fielding, fielding and bowling has achieved the highest price since 2014. MS Dhoni was the most expensive player in the first IPL season year 2008. Many emerging players from the domestic cricket scene were also bought at high prices and performed well. Hopefully IPL will continue to create a playground for young players.
