Nahida Bibi Khan is a top tennis player from Pakistan, known for her excellent batting. Born in Quetta, she is a strong opening batsman. She can also swing her arms to easily execute medium speeds in situations where it is necessary.
After playing at the U19 level and in the South Pakistan region, the player gained widespread recognition. The 22-year-old stepped onto the international stage in 2009, during the tri-nation series. Her ODI debut came against Sri Lanka.
She was then selected for the 2010 World T20 to make her T20 debut against Sri Lanka. She then scored 5 runs before going LBW. She was part of the China Asian Cup as a member of Pakistan’s gold medal winning team in the same year. She was also a part of the 2013 World Cup.
International career
Nahida Khan made her one-day international debut on 7 February 2009. The match was played in Bogra, against Sri Lanka. The player participated in the Women’s Cricket World Cup in Australia in the same year. During the 2010 Asian Games in China, Nahida was an important factor. Pakistan won gold in this match.
In 2018, the player was named in the Pakistan squad for the 2018 ICC Women’s World Twenty20 tournament in the West Indies. During the series against West Indies in February 2019, Nahida became the fifth cricketer to score 1,000 runs in Women’s One Day Internationals (WODIs).
In 2020, she became a part of Pakistan’s team for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020. She replaced Bismah Maroof in this match as the latter had to retire due to injury.
In 2022, Nahida became a member of the national team for the 2022 Women’s Cricket World Cup held in New Zealand.
