- Marceau was introduced to cinema at an early age and dreamed of acting in silent films ever since.
- The young artist often entertained his friends by impersonating famous actors and mimes.
- Not only that, he later used his silent acting skills to help bring Jewish children out of Nazi-occupied France.
- He used pantomime to help calm the children during dangerous moments on the journey to the Swiss border.
- Marceau made three such trips and helped liberate at least 70 children during World War II.

- Marceau studied dramatic acting and mime at the School of Dramatic Arts of the Sarah Bernhardt Theater in Paris after the end of the war.
- He began playing the famous clown Bip in 1947.
- His image is that of a tragic figure with a striped shirt, white face paint, and a worn-out flowered hat.
- According to Google, Bip explored a wide range of human emotions and his actions spoke louder than words.
- He then founded the Compagnie de Mime Marcel Marceau, the only mime company in the world at the time, to develop the art of silence.
- Furthermore, the mime artist also performed on intercontinental tours and introduced people around the world to the art of mime.
- Millions of people will recognize him from his television and film appearances.
- In 1973, he played Scrooge in A Christmas Carol, for which he won an Emmy Award for Best Directing a Special for his 1956 appearance on the Max Liebman Show of Shows.
- Some of his notable performances in the film industry include the 17 roles he played in the film First Class and his silent role in Shanks.
- Not only did the artist win hearts through his acting, Marceau also directed a pantomime and published two children’s books.
