Who is Linda Yaccarino, who will replace Elon Musks as the next Twitter CEO?

In December 2022, eccentric billionaire and CEO of Tesla, SpaceX and Twitter, Elon Musk, tweeted that he would step down as CEO of the blogging platform as soon as he found someone stupid enough to undertake this job. He also said that he will only run the software and server team.

I will resign as CEO as soon as I find someone stupid enough to take this job! After that, I will just run the software and server team.

Musk’s tweet came after he lost a poll he posted on Twitter asking users whether he should step down as head of the company. The poll ended with 57.5% of the 17.5 million respondents voting “yes” that Musk should step down as CEO.

It seems that after more than 5 months of searching, Musk has finally found his replacement in the form of CEO of the blogging platform – Linda Yaccarino.

Who is Linda Yaccarino?

Linda Yaccarino is President of Global Advertising and Partnerships at NBCUniversal. She is one of the most successful advertising sales executives in the world and is credited with helping transform the advertising business.

Yaccarino has been with NBCUniversal for more than 20 years, and she has held a variety of leadership positions. She is currently President of Global Advertising and Partnerships, responsible for overseeing the company’s global and operations units, including linear and digital platforms. She is also responsible for the brand’s global partnerships, including agreements with major brands such as Coca-Cola, McDonald’s and Procter & Gamble.

According to Yaccarino’s official profile on NBCUniversal, she and her team of 2,000 are responsible for connecting emerging and established brands to hundreds of millions of viewers, while driving economic impact across every sector. Since joining NBCU in 2011, her team has generated more than $100 billion in advertising revenue, expanded the company’s reach globally, launched an ad-supported streaming service first and invest heavily in data and technical capabilities. She was the first advertising executive to develop a technology-enabled unified trading system, One Platform, and create a unified business and monetization strategy.

She is a highly respected figure in the advertising industry and her commendable work has earned her several awards. She has been named one of the “Top 10 Creative Converters” by Business Insider, one of Adweek’s “Ten Most Powerful Women in Television,” one of “Women in Entertainment : Hollywood Reporter’s Power 100” and one of Variety’s “Powerful Women of New York.”

Yaccarino graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a degree in liberal arts and telecommunications. She is mentioned as a potential candidate for the position of Twitter’s next CEO. As a respected leader in the media industry with a proven track record of success, she would be a wise choice to lead Twitter into the future.

Excited to announce that I have hired a new CEO for X/Twitter. She will start in ~6 weeks!

My role will transition to executive president & CTO, overseeing products, software and systems.
