‘IB 71’ starring Anupam Kher and Vidyut Jammwal, is scheduled to hit theaters on May 12, 2023. The spy action film is based on an untold true story that led to the triumph of India during the Indo-Pak war of 1971. The film was produced by Bhushan Kumar and directed by Sankalp Reddy.
The highly anticipated trailer of the film was released on Monday, April 24.
The trailer begins with a plane crash. It then fades to show Anupam Kher as a government official and Vidyut Jammwal as an Intelligence Bureau (IB) officer, predicting and strategizing to keep the country safe and prevent attacks. Pakistan’s plans in the 1971 war.

The film is about a top secret mission carried out by India during the Indo-Pak conflict of 1971. The mission was kept secret for over five decades.
The story follows IB agent Dev Jammwal as he leads a team of 30 agents on a 10-day operation to protect the country. This patriotic spy thriller offers a never-before-told story of the events that led to India’s war victory.
The film’s director, Sankalp Reddy, said: “After the Ghazi attack, IB 71 was another story that helped us win the Indo-Pak war of 1971. I was shocked when Vidyut came to me and told this story. I really appreciated how Vidyut stepped out of his comfort zone for this film and decided to take on a unique role for the first time.”
The film brings the unsung and underappreciated heroes of the 1971 war to the big screen. It’s time to pay tribute to our heroes and inspire a new generation to learn about and appreciate their contributions. By telling their stories, the film IB 71 is paying homage to the larger cause of the 1971 war and the patriotism that motivated these heroes to fight for their country.
