Current position

They will only be able to see the current shared location and it will remain static.

Live location
WhatsApp’s Live Location feature allows users to share their real-time location with their contacts. So if you’re on the move, your live location will show your exact location, which will change as you move.
There is an additional benefit to sharing a live location, the user has full control over how long the location sharing will last and can end it at any time.
How to share location on WhatsApp?
Here are the steps to share your location through WhatsApp on Android devices:
- Open the chat of the contact with whom you want to share your location.
- To the right of the messaging bar (at the bottom of the conversation), you’ll find a paperclip icon.
- Tap the paperclip icon and then tap the location icon.
- Now, you can choose to share your current location or your live location. Tap either option and hit send and your location will be shared.
You can also choose to end location sharing at any time. Open the chat where you are sharing your location and select ‘stop sharing’.
Here are the steps to share your location through WhatsApp on iOS devices:
- Open the chat of the contact with whom you want to share your location.

- Click the location icon.
- Now, you can choose to share your current location or your live location. Tap either option and hit send and your location will be shared.
