The first century of the T20 International format was scored by Chris Gayle against South Africa in the inaugural ICC World Twenty20 in 2007. Australia’s Aaron Finch scored the highest individual score of 172 runs in the T20 format. Rohit Sharma of Team India holds the record for scoring the most T20I centuries.
Currently, IPL 2023, the 16th edition of the successful tournament is underway. In the recent match between the top two teams of the tournament, Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians, KKR’s Venkatesh Iyer made 158 runs off 73 balls. With this century, Iyer became the 2nd player after Brendon McCullum to score a century for KKR in IPL history.
