IPL 2023 winning team
The final scheduled to take place on May 28 was interrupted because of heavy rain in Ahmedabad. Because the match could not take place on the scheduled date, it was moved to Reserve Day. So the final will be played on Monday, May 29. Chennai Super Kings won and chose to field in the first innings. GT overcame the odds and showed incredible resilience against Chennai’s bowlers. Sai Sudarshan proved to be a problem for the bowlers as the hard-hitting batsman scored 96 off 47 balls. GT’s total score is 214/4.
Chennai’s target was to score 215 runs but was reduced to 171 (DLS) due to rain which delayed the match by two hours. In an action-packed innings that saw almost the entire CSK batting order shine, Devon Conway and Ravindra Jadeja were the standouts. The opening partnership between Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad gave Chennai the much-needed impetus and the remaining players Ajinkya Rahane, Ambati Rayudu, Shivam Dube and Ravindra Jadeja kept the show going.
MS Dhoni was unfortunate to score a golden duck but CSK won the match by 5 wickets despite Mohit Sharma’s deadly bowling. Chennai Super Kings are currently tied with Mumbai Indians for winning the most IPL titles (5).
