Overall, 2022 is a great year for cinema and for everyone in the film industry. And that is clearly shown in Google’s year-end 2022 search results. Three famous actors topped Google’s list of the most searched people in the world in 2022.
It is not surprising that the trio of Johnny Depp, Will Smith and Amber Heard also topped the list of the world’s most searched actors on Google in 2022.

1) Johnny Depp
Johnny Deep dominated much of 2022, first due to the controversy surrounding his long-delayed defamation lawsuit against ex-wife Amber Heard and then after winning the trial. Depp sued Aquaman actress Amber Heard for $50 million in defamation after she insinuated that she had been abused during their four-year relationship.
The couple faced off in court but Depp emerged as the winner in the “trial of the century”. Depp previously lost a similar defamation lawsuit in the UK but regained his reputation after winning the case in the US. Depp also received the love of the public, who supported him with millions of dollars. There’s a huge campaign going on to bring back Depp as the iconic Captain Jack Sparrow in Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.
2) Will Smith
Will Smith shocked Hollywood and the world when he slapped comedian Chris Rock at the Oscars. Rock made a joke mocking Smith’s wife Jada’s bald appearance, making the Men in Black actor uncomfortable.
After a brief pause, which showed Jada rolling her eyes and Smith smiling, he climbed on stage and assaulted Chris Rock in front of the whole world and then accepted the award for Best Actor. Smith was condemned by the film industry, which called for better measures to protect comedians and harsh punishment for those who dared to attack them simply for doing their job.

3) Amber heard

4) Chris Rock
Chris Rock was involved in one of the craziest and most shocking stage incidents ever. Rock joked about Jada Smith’s appearance. While most people laughed, Jada’s husband, Will Smith, was less than impressed with the joke that mocked his wife’s health condition.

5) Jada Pinkett Smith
