Kannada film star Puneeth Rajkumar breathed his last on October 29, 2021 at Bengaluru’s Vikram Hospital, where he was being treated in the ICU. The 46-year-old actor died of cardiac arrest, leaving fans and colleagues shocked and saddened.
Late Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar was born on March 17. Even after three years of his death, fans and film enthusiasts are celebrating his birthday with great pomp and fervour.

Puneeth Rajkumar: Birth and family
Popularly known as Appu, Puneeth Rajkumar is associated with Kannada cinema as an actor and producer. He is one of the highest paid actors in the Kannada film industry and is affectionately known as Powerstar by his fans.
He was born as Lohit Rajkumar on 17 March 1975 in Chennai to veteran actor Rajkumar and film producer Parvathamma Rajkumar. His family moved to Mysore when he was six. He is the younger brother of famous Kannada actor Shiva Rajkumar.
The actor married Ashwini Revanth on December 1, 1999 and the couple gave birth to two daughters– Drithi and Vanditha.

Puneeth Rajkumar was reportedly exercising in the gym when he fell and was taken to the hospital. According to an official statement released by Vikram Hospital, Puneeth Rajkumar was unresponsive and suffering from heart failure when brought to the emergency room. The medical expert panel made every effort to save him but was declared dead at 2:30 pm on October 29, 2021.
The mortal remains are kept at Kanteerava Stadium so people can bid him a final farewell. Politicians, celebrities, colleagues, friends, family and fans mourn the passing of Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar.
His eyes were transplanted to four patients with corneal blindness as informed by K. Bhujang Shetty, chairman and managing director of Narayana Nethralaya, to the media.
