IPL 2023 Qualifiers: The Indian Premier League playoffs have begun and it’s no surprise that Chennai Super Kings have secured a spot in the finals. CSK have qualified for the IPL finals for a record 10th time after defeating tournament points table leaders Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 1. But it remains to be seen which team will face CSK in the final match .
The second playoff match, the Eliminator match between Lucknow Super Giants and Mumbai Indians will be played on May 24 and the winner will face Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 2 on May 26. There are still three teams that can qualify event to participate in the IPL finals. Will we witness another classic clash between CSK and MI or will newcomers LSG and GT get another chance to lift the IPL trophy?
LSG have performed remarkably in the league stage and are about to enter the Qualifiers under the guidance of Gautam Gambhir. They have also made it to the IPL 2022 playoffs. On the other hand, it is Mumbai Indians, who have won 5 IPL titles in 6 appearances in the final. They started out as underdogs and ended up stealing the trophy. Lucknow Super Giants have defeated Mumbai Indians in all their IPL clashes. And LSG won first in all three matches. In their last match of IPL 2023, LSG defeated MI in a close match. However, the story may be different in neutral territory in Chennai.
Rohit Sharma looks like his old self and the MI team is riding a wave of confidence. In Chepauk, MI had an even record of 7-7, while LSG lost the only match they played.
LSG vs MI Time, place and throw
The highly anticipated Eliminator match between Lucknow Super Giants and Mumbai Indians will kick off in full swing at 7:30 pm (IST) on May 24, 2023. The match will be played at the Chepauk/MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
The final of Qualifier 2 and IPL 2023 will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
LSG and MI have everything ready, and the loser will not have another chance to reach the finals. So expect fireworks from the game.
The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place at 7 p.m.
