Mumbai is experiencing rising temperatures this summer. Furthermore, the IMD declared a heatwave in the financial capital on Saturday.
According to the weather department, a heatwave warning has been issued for entire Konkan, including Mumbai on Sunday.
The main observatory in Santacruz recorded a temperature of 39.4 degrees Celsius and Colaba reported 37.4 degrees Celsius.
According to studies, the presence of strong East winds delaying sea breezes is the cause of this heat wave.
Mumbai summer lasts from March to June. The state is known to be constantly humid with temperatures ranging from 30 to 35 degrees Celsius but this year the case seems different.

However, the average temperature fluctuates around 35°C during the day.
3. Sri Ganganagar
Another desert city is Sri Ganganagar located in the border area of India and Pakistan. The temperature of this Sri city can peak up to 50°C in the summer.
4. Bilaspur
Near the Tropic of Cancer, Bilaspur is one of the hottest places in India with temperatures reaching up to 49°C in summer, causing hardship for people. Due to the high exposure during the day, people don’t even dare leave the house without an umbrella or enough sunscreen.
5. Phalodi
Rajasthan is home to many of the hottest cities and one of them is the famous salt city of Phalodi. Temperatures here could reach India’s highest recorded so far at 51°C. Located in the buffer zone of the Thar desert, this place is always subject to extreme heat and heat waves.
6. Nagpur
Nagpur, also known as the orange city of Maharashtra, faces the highest heat fluctuations. During the day during the harsh summer (April to June), temperatures can reach 48°C.

7. Banda

Jhansi is located in India’s fourth largest state, Uttar Pradesh, and faces excessive heat from the Sun during summer, making it one of the hottest places in India.
Temperatures here can reach around 47°C and average around 35°C during summer days.
10. Title
Titlagarh is surrounded by barren hills and neighboring tropical regions such as Chhattisgarh and Telangana.
This small town of Odisha could record temperatures as high as 45.5°C.
In addition, local soil conditions are a prominent factor causing temperatures to skyrocket.
