Payback is not based on a single true story, but is inspired by real-life events and situations. The show’s creator, Debbie O’Malley, got some ideas from an unsolved true crime story about a Scottish banker who was shot to death outside her home many years ago. Payback Summary
Payback is a six-part crime thriller that follows the story of Lexie Noble, played by Morven Christie.
