The annual G7 (Group of 7) summit took place. G7 member states and leaders will meet from May 19 to 21 to discuss many issues of global importance such as the Ukraine war, AI, economy, military relations, etc
The 2023 G7 Summit will be hosted by Japan in Hiroshima. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the G7 along with first-time Prime Ministers Rishi Sunak of Britain and Giorgia Meloni of Italy.
There are 7 core member states in the G7: Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States. The European Union is an unlisted member.

Main issues of G7 Japan
Hiroshima, Japan is the location for the 2023 G7 Summit. Hiroshima has a lot of historical significance because it was the first city to be bombed with nuclear weapons during World War II. Hiroshima symbolizes the grave threat of atomic weapons, the effects of war, and steps toward world peace.
According to Prime Minister Kishida of Japan, the world is facing an unprecedented crisis because of Russia’s war against Ukraine and the increasing risk of using weapons of mass destruction. The G7 Hiroshima 2023 Summit will address major issues plaguing the world, such as military aggression, all threats of nuclear weapons, as well as efforts to overthrow the world. The international order has historical significance. Therefore, Hiroshima was chosen by Japan to demonstrate its commitment to global peace.
