The artwork shows winner Rebecca in the middle and her two sisters, Anna, 6, and Esther, 4, on either side. The trio were sipping hot chocolate in the sun, where vines and flowers spelled out the word Google. She describes her design:

“Sometimes I love them, sometimes I hate them, but I can’t imagine my life without my sisters. I’ve learned to be a little more patient with them and they’ve had a huge impact on me. We help inspire each other and help each other grow like the vines and flowers in my painting. I am never alone when I am with them and they can cheer me up. I’m grateful for them and everything they’ve done for me. In this drawing, we are happily drinking hot chocolate, which is one of my best memories. The rainbow in the background represents one of the first things I helped one of my sisters draw. In one of my family pictures, my sisters (sitting next to me) and I (the one in the middle) are sitting among flowers against a background I painted, so I thought it would be fun to reference that with how to draw us flowers sitting. This. The word “Google” is related to flower stems and vines, also following the flower/garden theme. My drawing includes all of our happiest memories to express my gratitude towards them.”

Rebecca’s success in this prestigious competition is a testament to the transformative power of art and the enormous potential of young artists to inspire change. Through her creative expression, she reminds us of the beauty in cherishing relationships and fostering bonds between siblings. Her talent and inspirational message will surely leave a lasting impact on young audiences around the world.
