Argumentative

Shivakumar’s political journey has been marred by many controversies. A key incident occurred in 2019, when he was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for money laundering. After more than 50 days in jail, he was finally released on bail.

In addition to the money laundering case, Shivakumar also faces charges of corruption and nepotism. In 2017, he was accused of favoring his son-in-law Amartya Hegde in the allocation of government contracts, raising concerns about preferential treatment.

Despite these controversies, Shivakumar continues to be influential and maintain popularity in Karnataka politics. Initially, he was considered a prominent figure capable of taking on the role of Prime Minister in the future. However, in a recent update, Siddharamaiah will soon be announced as the CM of Karnataka and Shivakumar will be his deputy.
