The story revolves around In-nam, a hitman who plans to retire after one last job. However, his plans change when he becomes involved in a kidnapping case in Thailand. He finds himself targeted by Ray, whose brother In-nam had killed earlier. The film was shot in Thailand, South Korea and Japan, with most of the filming taking place in Thailand.
The film was initially due to be released in early July, but was released in theaters in South Korea on August 5, 2020. It was a commercial success, grossing $34 million at the box office, exceeding its $11 million budget. The film’s success led to an expanded version with additional footage released on October 28, 2020. In the US, it was released in March 2021.

Deliver us from the bad ending explained
In the movie “Deliver Us from Evil,” In-nam, a former intelligence agent turned hitman, faces a dangerous situation when his past catches up with him. The story begins when In-nam is forced to leave his love, Young-Joo, behind and becomes a ruthless killer. Years later, in Thailand, Young-Joo’s daughter, Yoo-min, is kidnapped. In-nam discovers that Yoo-min is her own daughter and sets out to save her.
The kidnapper turns out to be a babysitter who is part of an organ trafficking syndicate. In-nam, determined to rescue Yoo-min, confronts the criminal organization. In a final confrontation at a hotel, In-nam fights bravely but realizes that he cannot escape his fate. He sacrifices himself by detonating a grenade, killing himself and his enemy, Ray, the butcher.
Before his death, In-nam makes arrangements for Yoo-min’s future. He contacts Yui, a person he met in Bangkok, and entrusts Yui with the care of Yoo-min. In-nam leaves all his money and documents so that Yoo-min and Yui can start a new life together. The film ends with Yoo-min and Yui living in Panama, holding on to memories of their family. In a photo frame, In-nam’s passport photo and Young-joo’s photo with Yoo-min are kept together, symbolizing that his family will always be with Yoo-min in his heart.
