Arunachal Pradesh state formation date 2023: Earlier, during the British colonial period, it was known as the North East Frontier Agency and the area was a part of Assam. In 1972, it became a Union Territory of India.

The capital of Arunachal Pradesh is Itanagar, where the celebration will be held at IG Park. Home Minister Amit Shah will lay the foundation stone for the new headquarters of Arunachal Pradesh Police. The Industrial Investment Policy 2020 will also be launched by Amit Shah and inaugurated the Joram Koloriang Road constructed by the Border Roads Organization (BRO).

Arunachal Pradesh: History

On February 20, 1987, Arunachal Pradesh became a full-fledged state. It was known as the North East Frontier Agency (NEFA) until 1972. On 20 January 1972, it acquired Union Territory status and was renamed Arunachal Pradesh.

An elected Legislative Council was established on 15 August 1975 and the first Council of Ministers took office. In February 1978, the first general elections to the National Assembly were held. For proper management, the state is divided into 16 districts. Itanagar in Papum Para district is the capital of Arunachal Pradesh. Let us tell you that the name of Itanagar is kept after the name of Ita fort, meaning brick fort built in the 14th century AD.

Brahmaputra and its tributaries are the major rivers of the state. In the Tibet Autonomous Region of China, the Brahmaputra is known as Tsangpo and Dihang or Siang in Arunachal Pradesh, where it flows east from Lake Mansarovar in Tibet before falling south through the Himalayas into north-central Arunachal Pradesh. Let us tell you the tributaries of Brahmaputra river are Dibang (Sikang), Lohit, Subansiri, Kameng and Tirap.

Soil types depend on the terrain. In general, it is acidic and in mountainous areas it is susceptible to erosion. The main types of soils found are inceptisols, entisols and ultisols. Rich alluvial soils found around river valleys are good for agriculture.

Arunachal Pradesh: Agriculture and Horticulture

Most of the population of Arunachal Pradesh is largely dependent on jhum crop agriculture. People are also encouraged to grow other commercial crops such as potatoes and horticultural crops such as apples, oranges and pineapples.

Several festivals are celebrated in Arunachal Pradesh and some of them are as follows: Mopin and Solung of Adis, Lossar of Monpas and Boori-boot of Hill Miris, Sherdukpens, Dree of Apatanis, Si-Donyi of Tagins, Reh of ldu -Mishmis, Nyokum of the Nish, etc. The common ritual performed by the people of Arunachal Pradesh during most of the festivals is animal sacrifice.

In 1991, APMDTCL was established for the conservation and exploration of vast minerals. Later, APMDTCL took over the Namchik-Namphuk coal mine. There are two Industrial Training Institutes at Roing and Daporijo to train craftsmen in different trades.

Arunachal Pradesh: Transport and Tourism Centre

It has 330 km of national highways. The tourist places in Arunachal Pradesh are as follows: Tawang, Dirang, Bomdila, Tipi, Itanagar Malinithan, Likabali, Pasighat, Together, Tezu, Miao, Roing, Daporijo Namdapha, Bhismaknagar, Parashurarn Kund and Khonsa.

So, now we know that Arunachal Pradesh acquired the status of Union Territory on 20 February 1972 and so Arunachal Pradesh Foundation Day is celebrated on 20 February every year.
