MATH PUZZLE 1
The combined ages of the father and son are 66. The father’s age is the same as the son’s age reversed. How old could they be? (3 possible solutions).

Which two positive integers have a single-digit result when multiplied together and a two-digit result when added together?

You want to boil an egg for two minutes. If you only have a three-minute timer (hourglass), a four-minute timer, and a five-minute timer, how can you boil eggs in just two minutes?

How much would an angle of 38° measure when viewed under a 10x magnification microscope?

1=5, 2=15, 3=215, 4=3215, 5=?
MATH PUZZLE 6
How can you make the following equation true by just drawing a straight line: 5+5+5=550? Can you imagine it?
MATH PUZZLE 7
In a certain city, 5% of the town’s population has an unlisted phone number. If you randomly selected 100 names from that city’s phone book, how many of the people selected would have unlisted phone numbers?

Answers to puzzle 2: 1 and 9.
Answer to puzzle 3: When the water boils, turn the timer to three minutes and set the timer to five minutes. When the three minutes are up, put the eggs in the boiling water. When the five minutes are up, two minutes have passed and it’s time to remove the egg from the water. You don’t need a four-minute timer for this puzzle.
Answer to puzzle 4: The temperature is still 38°
Answer to puzzle 5: 5=1, because 1=5
Answer to puzzle 6: Draw a straight line on the first plus sign to turn it into the number 4! The equation then becomes correct: 545+5=550. You can also change the equals symbol to a crossed equals symbol which means “not equal”.
Answer to puzzle number 7: No. If their name is in the phone book then they don’t have an unpublished phone number!
