The Indian Premier League (IPL) is a short-format T20 cricket tournament known for its exciting matches and explosive batting. Since its inception in 2008, the Indian Premier League has been the platform for some of the most thrilling and high-scoring cricket matches in the world.

TOP 5 biggest scorecards ever in IPL
1. Royal Challengers Bangalore (263/5)
April 23, 2013 was a historic night in the Indian Premier League. Playing against Pune Warriors India, IPl favorites Royal Challengers Bangalore scored a whopping total of 263 runs for the loss of just 5 wickets. RCB’s star player Chris Gayle alone contributed 175 runs and remained not out. That is considered a respectable score for the entire team at IPL. A few more balls and Gayle would have made a double century in T20 cricket. Other RCB players like Tillakaratne Dilshan, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers played second fiddle as Gayle forever etched his name in the history books. Pune Warriors India were restricted to 133/9.
2. Super giant Lucknow (May 257)
Lucknow Super Giants almost surpassed RCB’s almost unbeaten record by scoring 257 runs in 20 overs, losing by just 5 wickets. LSG beat Punjab Kings first, and every player of the team entered the field and started hitting boundaries. Marcus Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran were the MVPs, scoring 72 off 40 and 45 off 19 respectively. PBKS also batted well and could have won on any other day but fell short by 56 runs even after scoring 201 runs.
3. Royal Challengers Bangalore (March 248)
It was a rare situation where two batsmen scored centuries in the same T20 match. RCB achieved the feat in 2016 against Gujarat Lions. Virat Kohli scored 109 runs in 55 balls, while AB de Villiers scored 129 runs in 52 deliveries. Gujarat Lions were restricted to 104 runs in 20 overs.
4. Chennai Super Kings (246/5)
Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals played in a classic match in 2010. CSK scored 246 runs with 5 wickets to spare. RR also played extremely well but only scored 223 runs. CSK’s Murali Vijay was the MVP of the match, scoring 127 runs in 56 balls.
5. Kolkata Knight Riders (June 245)
Kings XI Punjab were in for another high-scoring yet thrilling match as Kolkata Knight Riders registered a total of 245 runs in 20 overs. Sunil Narine was man of the match. The West Indies all-rounder opened for KKR and scored 75 runs off 26 deliveries. KXIP tried to fight with captain Ravichandran Ashwin and the entire team tried their best but in vain. KKR won by 31 runs.

- The 2023 Indian Premier League saw a total of over 200 points on the scoreboard. Teams have even chased huge scores to win the game. However, the team with the highest score in Tata IPL 2023 belongs to Lucknow Super Giants.
- Lucknow Super Giants created history in IPL 2023 after scoring a monumental total of 257 runs in 20 overs for the loss of just 5 wickets. They almost came close to breaking RCB’s almost untouchable record.
- Chennai Super Kings have the second highest IPL run total in 2023. CSK played against rivals Kolkata Knight Riders at their home ground Eden Garden Stadium and registered 235 runs on the scoreboard.
- Gujarat Titans recorded the third-highest IPL total in the 2023 edition of the tournament. Playing in a pressure-packed qualifying match against Mumbai Indians, the GT batsman scored 233/3 off his first strike. MI were bowled out for 171
